Mark Stanton - Head of Systems Engineering
As Head of Systems Engineering for BMT Defence Services, Mark has over 25 years' experience in defence capability acquisition. Before joining BMT, Mark worked for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) where he was responsible for combat system integration and sub-system procurement for submarine and surface platforms.
Mark joined BMT in 1999, where he was seconded to the Submarine Support Management Group to focus on the management and improvement of design intent of submarine combat systems. He returned to BMT HQ in 2003 and has delivered several complex land and maritime projects. He has supported both core and UOR programmes where he honed his skillset and experience of tailoring systems engineering artifacts and approaches to support effective and efficient procurement process.
Mark has been head of the department since 2009 and holds overall responsibility for systems engineering technical discipline, resources, training, development and quality of work. He has a vast experience in the pragmatic application of the systems engineering discipline to engineering and capability challenges throughout the system lifecycle. Mark is a chartered engineer (CEng) with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
