In partnership with Thales Naval UK, BMT’s twin island carrier design, complete with reconfigurable flight deck options, was the winning design for the QEC Aircraft Carrier.
BMT’s adaptable platform concept was taken forward as the basis for the definitive CVF ‘Delta Design’, and our experts have formed part of rainbow teams of designers throughout the project.
Since 1999 BMT has provided expertise across various UK design and build locations and in the 4 main design directorates:
- Power & propulsion
Key disciplines employed include structures, transport, fire protection, control & instrumentation, fuel systems, safety, stability, weight control, supportability, general arrangement, technical documentation and auxiliary systems. BMT staff are in key posts to ensure that the BMT winning platform design, as built, achieves original design intent.
